Test Mode - Special Developer Permissions
complete
Matthew Palmer
1) The problem → Customers need an ability to test onboarding automations for user signups. This would require an ability to perform "test mode" features after a website has gone live.
2) Why is this important → When a customer has deployed their website with paid members, converting to test mode isn't ideal as stripe doesn't allow for reverting paid memberships.
3) What's your plan B → Currently, there is no workaround.
4) Possible solutions we could build for you → An integration in Memberstack that would allow users to perform "test mode" operations after their websites have gone live.

This is officially baked into 2.0 at this point — we're excited to share more details once we're in Developer Beta with 2.0.

Bailey Simrell This is super helpful!
Possible plan B: could you run these tests by using a 100% off coupon in production? Limitations: messes up analytics... I have a feeling there's more.
Ideal solution: A "test mode" state that's available to admin. Maybe a secret URL parameter that switches everything into test mode or a way of telling Memberstack - if anyone signs up with this email, bypass Stripe.
Question - Is the goal here is to bypass Stripe, or to trigger actions in Stripe's test mode?

Duncan Hamra: Yeah, those workarounds actually will work just fine.. thanks for the ideas!
And the goal is basically just to not have to pay for a new membership every time I want to test onboarding / account signup flows in the future.
